GUEST GALLERY: Venator-class Republic Star Destroyer 1/2274 by THE MADHATTER.

The Venator-class Star Destroyer, was one of the capital ships used extensively by the Galactic Republic during the later parts of the Clone Wars, as well as by the Galactic Empire. It was designed and constructed by Kuat Drive Yards and Allanteen Six shipyards. ―Wookieepedia.

This is the most detailed SW model I´ve ever seen. And it is not only amazingly detailed and painted but also insanely illuminated! A real gift for the eyes of every Star Wars fan.
The Madhatter is an Aussie modeller from Melbourne. He used the basic Revell´s kit and turned it into a "massive" starship in miniature. As you can see the force is strong with him that´s why I consider him one of those few Jedi Modellers around the Galaxy.
You can read Madhatter´s WIP thread of the Venator Destroyer here.

The "Sandtrooper" work: Kotobukiya 1/6 aprox.

“Let me see your identification” –Favourite phrase of the Sandtroopers along the Galaxy-

Who doesn´t like those beautiful Star Wars statues by Kotobukiya?  They are nicely sculpted...by not so nicely pre-painted in some cases.  That´s what happens with the weathering of the Sandtroopers. It is really ugly. So I decided to repaint it.
Other problem with these figures is the mould lines. If you want to treat the figure as a scale model you must eliminate those nasty lines. No discussion.
My first intention was to repaint and weather it but after painting the white coat and the shading the angles it looked so good to me that I left it just that way, no weathering at all. He has just got off the shuttle.
To fully repaint these figures it is not affordable if you have dozens of them but they are so wonderfully sculpted that I think it worth the effort to improve some of them.

GUEST GALLERY: "Abandoned Refuge" 1/32 by DIMITRI KALIVIOTIS.

"This is a ~1/32 model-diorama of the famous AT-AT Starwars vehicle. The concept dictated that the refuge looks twice abandoned.... First abandoned by the Empire and then by the local primitives.
Most of the parts are cast in resin but a few of the master originals were used here and there to save on time and materials. Lot's of found-object in this one for the dressing/guts." -Dimitri Kaliviotis.

The first time I saw this model I automatically got stuck to the monitor. It is not only a great concept but a wonderfully built and painted model. I love post-apocalyptic stuff as well as Star Wars ships&vehicles so this work really impressed me.
Dimitri is a Greek design-artist, model-maker and illustrator that lives and work in Montreal. He has worked in a number of American film productions.
This model won the 2007 Starship Modeler Wreck Contest.

The "Scout Trooper" work: MPC 1/11.

"What's the last thing to go through an Imperial scout trooper's head when he hits a tree? His afterburner." ―Joke told by Rebel forces on Endor.

"The 74-Z speeder bike, sometimes referred to as the Imperial speeder bike due to its use by scout stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire, was a speeder bike manufactured by Aratech Repulsor Company used for reconnaissance purposes, as well as rapid transportation in combat zones."Wookieepedia.

This is the oldie mold from MPC. The bike is not bad at all but the trooper figure is not easy to turn into something credible. Anyway, is one of those kits essential for the real fans (either you assemble it or not) and with enough faithful work you can get a nice result.
I transformed a little the figure to get a more dynamic pose. Basically I raised the right arm so he can aim the blaster and turned the head so he looks slightly to the right. The figure is attached to the ground with a metallic tube through his left foot, the long grass hides the tube perfectly. I think that the effect works really well.
Cheers from the Sanctuary Moon of Endor...
