GUEST GALLERY: SBD-3 Dauntless 1/32 by TOMÁS DE LA FUENTE.

Another Navy bird. This time the Trumpeter 1/32 Dauntless by Tomás de la Fuente. Tomás is one of those few modellers with the capacity of making models of any country, age or scale and keep the same realistic touch. I admire his way of weathering with subtle but very attractive effects. Notice how Tomás superbly imitated the degraded paint effect, the exhaust staining or the characteristic chipping of the Navy aircrafts. And the detailing and paintjob of the cockpits is equally amazing.
A wonderful piece, no doubt.

  2. Hi Diego!
Tell Tomas that he is not a good modeller, nor a great modeller... Tell him thie is absolutely perfect and that his work is breath-taking! The colors are amazing and the transitions are so smooth! Wow! I was wondering if this thing was real! :)

    1. Hi Alex,
Yep, this is one of those models that if you take the photographs under natural sun light it looks absolutely real. Anyway, for a model I prefer artificial light so I can judge the skill of the modeller. And in this case is excellent. You have good eye for the nice models Alex, :)

  4. I think that you should be nominated the "Michelangelo of scale models". Your work is so perfect that it seems to me that the only thing missing is the fuel for a nice take off.
