The "Shades of Death" work: Tamiya 1/48.

Can death be sleep, when life is but a dream,
And scenes of bliss pass as a phantom by?
The transient pleasures as a vision seem,
And yet we think the greatest pain's to die.

How strange it is that man on earth should roam,
And lead a life of woe, but not forsake
His rugged path; nor dare he view alone
His future doom which is but to awake.

On Death -John Keats.

Ok, now I can say this T-34 extravaganza is finally finished, I hope. It has been the first time I make two different works with the same model, and I guess the last one, but the circumstances were propitious.
For those interested you can read the "Shades of Chaos" article in Panzer Aces nº 45
and the "Shades of Death" article in The Weathering Magazine Snow & Ice issue

And a final photo for the size comparison. Cheers!

The T-34 project (V)

A new twist to this already twisted vignette. Some snow and icicles to turn the dio into a winter scene.

And what is a snow scene without a snowman?

I don´t remember when but at some point this scene turned into some kind of  allegory of death, so the snowman ended up with this look:

And of course, what is a death allegory without a corpse? I remember a shocking scene from Jean-Jacques Annaud´s Enemy at the Gates when Soviet snipers shot dead a German soldier with a cable layer backpack. I thought it would be a nice idea. If you notice, the cable from the backpack passes under the snow figure, somehow connecting both corpse and Death:

The "Shades of Chaos" work: Tamiya 1/48.

Chaos, destruction, death.  Law of life.  Inexorable natural laws. Order, civilization, progress. Absurd human utopias. Chaos is the state of maximum equilibrium. Leviathan, Fenrir, Kali, The Four Horsemen, always waiting their time. And it always comes.  Man creates and destroys. Order and chaos. The natural versus the human. Human nature.

Caos, destrucción, muerte. Ley de vida. Inexorables leyes naturales. Orden, civilización, progreso. Absurdas utopías humanas. El caos es el estado de máximo equilibrio. Leviatán, Fenrir, Kali, Los cuatro jinetes, siempre esperando su momento. Y siempre llega. El hombre crea y destruye.  Orden y caos. Lo humano contra lo natural. Naturaleza humana.

Diego Quijano.

GUEST GALLERY: "A Bitter Spring Awakening" 1/35 by KAZUYA YOSHIOKA.

Kazuya san  is one of the most talented diorama modellers in the world, no doubt. He masters the vehicles, figures and nature to recreate impressive scenes with an amazing attention to detail. But beyond the incredible technical skills, he also uses the colours and composition to get an immersive atmosphere that captures the viewer´s attention  at the first sight.
This diorama is the best example of Kazuya´s work. Incredible figures, amazing tanks, wonderful composition and the crude atmosphere of a sorrowful and bitter spring awakening.
If you want to discover Kazuya Yoshioka´s secrets don´t miss his book "The diorama perfection" with an extensive step by step of this diorama.

The T-34 project (IV)

Ok, the thing is 99% finished. It looks quite weird but you already knew that. Didn´t you?
